On August 7,2026,,Pakistan,Saudi Arabia & Turkey signed a Mecca Agreement (also called The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement) in Mecca,Saudi Arabia. The Historic Trilateral Pact includes a NATO style collective security clause stating that an armed attack on any one of the three nations will be regarded as an attack on all of them. This is a significant move which will act as a deterrence in the region which is already volatile.
Impact on India : Though, we have good relationship with Saudi Arabia, this agreement will have some impact on India if Pakistan provokes India leading to another war. In that case, the reaction of Turkey & Saudi Arabia has to be watched. Though,Our bilateral Trade relations with Turkey is robust,political ties face persistent strain due to their policy towards Jammu & Kashmir . Of course,in this interdependent world ,one should wait & watch as India is emerging as one of the super economic PowerHouse.
