MARATHON ON 26th May,2019 (Sunday)-ASTHMA-THON.
According to WHO estimates 235 million people suffer from Asthma.
Asthma is the most common chronic disease among children.Failure to
use appropriate medications or to adhere to treatment can lead to death
from a possible asthma attack.According to latest WHO estimates,there
are 3,46,000 deaths due to asthma attack worldwide every year.
Dr.Satish,President,Karnataka Pulmonology Association,"Asthma is a silent
condition and therefore even if there are no symptoms like wheezing
coughing,or breathing trouble,regular use of controllers are mandatory.
Controllers are medicines available in inhalers & when used regularly
over a long period of time,they help control asthma better.Controller
drugs improve symptoms,prevent attacks & help one lead a good
quality life".
