STROKE PE ROK - RECOGNISE FAST,ACT FASTER.

October,29,is called " WORLD STROKE DAY". Every year,millions face the sudden,life altering impact of a brain stroke.Yet,despite the risks,many still fail to recognise the warning signs in time.Every minute counts when it comes to stroke.The "Stroke Pe Rok"  is an awareness campaign to focus on recognising stroke symptoms quickly and to highlight the life saving potential of mechanical thrombectomy.

Medical experts from Manipal Hospital,Old HAL Road, Dr.Ullas Acharya,Dr.Abha Verma &  Dr.Abhishek says that while stroke can strike  anyone at any time,rapid emergency care is paramount. (Golden Window Period).They emphasized that timely intervention substantially enhances the potential for full recovery & helps prevent serious complications.



Symptoms of a stroke: (FAST)

Face Drooping -  One side sag when the person smiles.

Arm Weakness -   One arm unable to lift or hold steady.

Speech difficulty  - words slurred or unclear.

Time                     - Call emergency services immediately. Faster a stroke is recognized,sooner a            patient can receive advanced care. Some other symptoms of Stroke are : Sudden Loss of balance & sudden loss of vision.

Causes of Stroke: Hemorrhage Stroke: Increased Blood Pressure & Blood thinners may also cause bleeding.

Ischemic Stroke :  Blood Clot in the brain.
