Announced the Institution of the first ever 'Nataraja Samman" awards to five living legends from the world of classical dance.The awardees are Dr.Vyjayanthimala Bali,Pt.Birju Maharaj,Dr.Yamini Krishnamurthy,Dr.Sonal Mansingh and Ms.Bharati Shivaji.

The awards will be given on January,19,2013 at Tamarind Tree,Bangalore.  All the awardees would be presenting a short dance piece for about 15 minutes each,and the awards ceremony will be followed by Smarana-a charity dinner in the memory of late Namrata Venkatram Reddy  who succumbed to cancer in 2009.The proceeds of the dinner will go to the Kidwai Memorial Hospital  for Paediatric Cancer patients.
