RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences will be making it
mandatory for teaching hospitals affiliated to it to seek accreditation  
from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health care 
providers.(NABH)."Teaching Hospitals are the hub of activity.the 
purpose is to  sesnsitise the faculty members about patient care ,
Accountability & quality of treatment",said,Ms.T.Rajeshwari,Director,of Quality Assurance 
& Accreditation at the RGUHS.At present,Father Muller medical college,Mangalore,and 
M.S.Ramiah Medical College,Bangalore are ready for accreditation.

The Convocation of RGUHS will be held on 26th march,2014 at NIMHANS convention centre
Bangalore.Dr.Vishwa Mohan Katoch,DG,Indian Council for Medical Research,New Delhi, 
will be the Chief Guest & deliver the convocation address.The Governor of Karnataka who
is also the Chancellor of the university,Dr.Hans Raj Bharadwaj and the Health Minister
Dr.Sharan Prakash Rudrappa Patil will grace the occassion.

Addressing the media, Dr.K.S Sriprakash,VC of RGUHS said,36 candidates will be awarded 
 Ph.D degrees,& 28,559 candidates will be awarde degrees.Totally 62 candidates will be 
awarded 87 GOLD Medals.Many eminent doctors will also be awarded Honorary Doctor
of Sciences (Honoris Causa) at the convocation.
